Now that Microsoft matched several features to Google search with its own Bing, can we expect fast growth of Microsoft AdCenter usage? The first week does not gives much hope.

“It has barely raised the Microsoft’s share of clicks by about 5 per cent from what it had earlier, which is a market share gain of less than 1 per cent overall,” says Mahesh Murthy, founder of Pinstorm, a digital marketing firm, which is also into search engine advertising. There had been a rise in traffic to Bing from June 1 to 6, he says, but that had since declined by half and was dropping every day back towards its original level.

Microsoft says that Bing is still in Beta and hence will take time to gain critical mass. In my opinion, Microsoft may not gain enough ground with Bing. As Internet Marketers and heavy Google AdWords users, we do not have much options, at least for now. Please add your sound bites …

If you are wondering how Google determines the CPC (Cost Per Click) for your PPC campaigns, watch this video now. We all know that Quality Score matters in getting a good Ad Ranking and reduce CPC. Google’s Chief Economist Hal Varian explains how Google determines the price of a CPC when a number if Advertisers are competing for the Ad position. Take a look at the video now; it is only about 10 minutes length.

Even if you are a SEO wizard and get a lot of traffic to your site with on-site and off-site Search Engine Optimization, PPC can not be ignored in the highly competitive market place.Building a quality website with good, fresh content is essential for getting low CPC rates too. Hence if you have built an authoritative web site for your niche and growing it with quality content, then your PPC spending can be dramatically reduced.

Every one of us want to know how to make our Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns more effective and make more money. Or should I say Not to Lose Money via PPC? Your money will go down the drain quickly if you are not careful enough and do not know what you are doing. In fact, many internet marketers burn their fingers as soon as they start and look for other avenues of marketing such as SEM. However, if you how to do it and have the patience and standing power, there is nothing like PPC to sell products or service on the internet and make money.

While there are several books, ebooks, courses and seminars on PPC (or Google Adwords), it is extremely difficult to learn it by Step By Step process. As you learn, you will be losing money! Here is another course in the offing from PPC Classroom and it promises to be different. I watched 3 videos on the PPC Classroom blog and realized that everyone of the video is loaded with tons of information, some basic, many advanced tips.

Whether you are a newbie or an intermediate (like me) or an advanced PPC user, this course, scheduled to be launched on October 14, 2008, looks refreshingly different. Amit Mehta, who makes $2.4 Million an year primarily through PPC, shares a lot of his experiences on the subject. The following are some of the key topics:

PPC with Search Networks

PPC with Content Networks

Using Deep Keywords vs Broad Keywords (or Long Tail Keywords)

Bidding strategies

Launching multiple PPC campaigns

Tracking Keywords

Keyword Analysis Tools

Landing Pages for PPC

Lastly, many of my friends who just enters into the internet marketing often ask me if PPC and Google Adwords are one and the same! Though these are not same, the terms are used to refer the same by many, as Google Adwords is the biggest of all PPC programs. If you master Google Adwords, you can very well manage the Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN Search via Adcenter.
