About InternetTrailBlazers

In InternetTrailBlazers.Com, I intend to collect and provide information and resources about the leading Internet Marketing Entrepreneurs. This will not be about the big wigs of the internet industry such as Jeff Bezos, Marc Andreessen, and Larry Page; there is tons of information on such folks from the traditional sources such as press and books. This will be about the ordinary, regular people who fought against the system, learned lessons the hard way and became trend setters, leading lights, pioneers, educators and leaders. The stories of these entrepreneurs will inspire and encourage young entrepreneurs to think in radically different and bold ways.

I will also attempt to provide the information on the products and services provided by these internet entrepreneurs. There are hundreds, probably thousands, of products available in the market place for a budding internet marketer. I will try to collate and provide brief summaries about these products and provide links where feasible.

As everyone knows, just buying these products will not result in success; it depends on the actions taken by the buyer. Also, many products may be doing the same thing in a different way; hence a marketer does not need all these products.

If you get into a book store and look for books on a specific subject, you can see dozens of books from various authors. It is impossible to buy or use all of them. The same thing applies here.

Internet Business Vs Traditional Business

I used to wonder… why all the big fuss about Internet?

For traditional businesses, there are hundreds of (if not more) years of precedence. If you want to run a flower shop, you can look forward to hundreds of people who have done the same thing. Even if you are planning to manufacture automotive parts, there are innumerable sources to learn from and lean on.

In an internet centric businesses, there is no such luck. If you want to use Google AdSense to make money, probably Joel Comm’s ebook is the earliest organized information source.

If you are looking to have practical knowledge about Google Adwords, we can not go to our fathers or forefather. Probably a college whiz kid fascinated by Google’s rapid rise will know better than any of them.

Most of the internet inventions / products / services do not come with bundles of books; everyone learns as they start using. On top of that, the growth of the internet technology is phenomenal. How many times does  Google revises their search results algorithms? How often Google revises the ad distribution strategy? Probably every quarter, if not month.

How old is Social media like Blogs? Not much.

This is the reason why there is so much buzz about internet based marketing. And there are so many workshops, seminars, conferences, ebooks, DVDs, home study courses.

And all these become obsolete in years, if not sooner. Hence the need for updated products, services, strategies, tactics, courses, etc.

Scope and Coverage

It is impossible to cover all the internet wizards; there are thousands of them. As I mentioned earlier, I am not going by the dollar numbers (revenue generated, profit earned, customers sign-up, etc.) but by the depth and breadth of the product / service / concept. Hence, if I am ignoring some of the known faces, it does not mean they have been discounted.

Buyer Beware

Just like in any other business, there always crooks and fly by night operators in this industry too. It is your responsibility as a buyer to analyze, weigh and buy their products or services.

Also, the suitability of the products vary from person to person and business to business. Make an informed decision. Listing of inventors, entrepreneurs, products and services does not mean they are vetted! As I mentioned earlier many of the products may be competing products and suggest diametrically opposite solution for the same problem!

I hope to make this a living document and update it periodically, unlike a book where the updates will be time taking. You are welcome to point out any factual errors and offer your suggestions to improve the site. Please use the blog entries for your feedback.

Regards,
Paddu Govindaraj
